Depart from HoD at 9:40 KSU after meeting. Ride is back roads and 1 stop for break.

Destination: Creekside BBQ, 1020 Oak Mtn Park Road, Pelham, AL

Ride will depart from Exit 100, Petro Travel Center after the Riders Meeting at 9:25. Route is all back roads with 1 stop.

2022 Museum Challenge

Please save these dates (see below). Make all four rides for a special treat. If you can’t make the rides with the group, do the ride on your own or with a smaller group.
To get credit, take a picture of yourself at the location and send to Garrett.
These are four very diverse museums across out state and each promises to be a rewarding adventure.

Saturday 8/6
Mustang Museum, Odenville

Depart HoD at 8:30.  This ride will take 2.5 hours allowing for a 30 minute stop. Ride departs form HoD, so plan to have kick stands up at 8:30 to put us at Charlie’s BBQ in Odenville at 11:00. This should also help to beat the heat a little.
This ride has a lot of sharp curves and elevation changes.

Saturday 9/3
John W. Inzer Museum, Ashville

Depart HoD at 8:30 a.m., travel all back roads stopping at Buc-ee’s for a quick break as the facilities at the museum are primitive, then on to Ashville. The tour is about 2 hours, afterwards we will go to Mi Casita Mexican in Ashville for lunch.

Saturday 10/15
Cook Museum of Natural Science, Decatur

This is a “Brown Bag Ride”
Please bring your own food and drink.
Ride departs from HoD at 8:30.
We will be traveling I 65 for the first part of the ride in order to make time to enjoy our lunch and the museum.
We will be eating lunch at Delano Park in Decatur. Cook Museum is only a few blocks away. This is a Museum of Natural Science and is a Great place to take kids of all ages. There is something of interest for everyone, young and old.

Saturday 11/5
Barbers Motorsports Museum, Leeds

Who: All HoD HOG members and guest.
When: 11/5/22
What: Final Museum Challenge Ride. This is a brown bag ride to Barbers Museum in Leeds, AL. We will have a private tour which includes down stairs areas where the bikes and cars are restored and or preserved.
Where: Line up in front of the HoD HOG room. 9am-10am coffee and doughnuts will be served. Kickstands up at 10:15 am. We will ride back roads directly to the museum. The brown bag lunch will be in the Bistro located in the museum. Participants feel free to depart at your leisure.

RIDE 365

Ride 365 is the mileage program for HOG.  Be sure to stop by the dealership and register your bike with Mike to start earning rewards for you and the chapter.  All you need is your National HOG number, last 4 digits of your vin and a picture of your odometer to get started.  Stop back in throughout the year to update your total miles.  Remember to have your 2022 mileage entered for the new 2022 year.  This can be done at the front desk at HoD. After registering you can go online to members.hog.com and sign in with your personal HOG info and view your mileage and the total chapter mileage. Remember to update your mileage through out the year as we watch our mileage rise. Also turn in your final mileage by 12/31/2022.

* All Heart of Dixie HOG rides are Closed Rides.  “Closed” Rides or Events are defined by Harley Davidson HOG as:
Closed: local Chapter members with current Membership Enrollment & Release on file and one guest per Chapter member (guests do not out number local Chapter members) (Copied from HOG Chapter Handbook 2018)
For membership verification you must have your current National HOG card with the 2022 Heart of Dixie HOG membership sticker attached.
As with all rides, remember to arrive for the riders meeting on a Harley-Davidson with a full fuel tank and empty bladder.
