** UPDATED: Kymulga Grist Mill - Departs HoD

Event date:
Sat, 04/27/2024 - 10:30am

Hello all – just a quick update to my Kymulga Grist Mill and covered Bridge ride on April 27th. We will depart HOD at 10:30 am after the riders meeting. This ride will be a short ride of about 60 miles. As requested by management we are not going to include Majestic Caverns on this ride – only the covered bridge and grist mill. Some of you may remember we rode to the bridge and grist mill last November; however, this time they are having their annual Grits Festival from 9 am to 2 PM. It costs $1.00 per person to get into the festival. They are expecting over 50 vendors of all flavors such as custom-made flintlock rifles and of course numerous vendors with Shimp and Grits using their own stone ground grits. As they are expecting around 1,700 folks at this festival parking may be at a premium. We may have to park in a grassy area so be sure to bring your kickstand pads if the soil is soft – we had no trouble last time. There is one planned stop, but no lunch stop. The ride is over once we reach the covered bridge and grist mill, so you are welcome to enjoy the festival or head into Childersburg for lunch, etc.

As always full tank and empty bladder – this ride will be a lot more fun if you’re there!!
