**** UPDATE ON HOTEL IN MILWAUKEE ****
Quick update , we'll find a different hotel in milwaukee. While the
iron horse is an amazing place, I believe it will push the total $$
too high for most everyone. I had seen some dates in the low 100
range, then when i looked in June, it was basically 300+ per night.
so... lets find something a wee bit more.... affordable, shall we say.
Harley Davidson Museum - June 23 – 30
Come join us on a weeklong trip to Milwaukee to the birthplace of Harley
Davidson.
We will take 2 days going there, including stops in Nashville for lunch, Metropolis,
IL for a 50 rides one nation challenge coin. We will avoid the major cities like
Chicago heading there, instead taking a more scenic route through Decatur IL
and Rockford.
While in Milwaukee we will tour the Harley Davidson Museum, eat at the famous
Motor Bar and restaurant, drop some $$ at the HD gift shop, and enjoy a bike
night with local bands, outdoor food trucks, and more Thursday night at Harley
Davidson campus.
We will also go up to ride the famous Door County loop. This is also part of the
50 rides one nation challenge and will get us another coin.
Riding Door County is a bit like taking a journey in the “way-back machine.”
Featuring small town serenity and rustic two-lane highways, there isn’t a fastfood
joint or national hotel chain to be found, save for in the county seat of
Sturgeon Bay. Door County is a major cherry-producing region. With over 2,500
acres of orchards, the county is the fourth-largest cherry producer in the country.
Its tart Montmorency cherries are used for making everything from pies to wine.
The best time to see cherry trees in full blossom is from mid- to late-May.
There will be plenty of time for you to go off on your own to explore, while having
daily group rides throughout the region.
Join us for a week of adventure and see where Harley Davidson really came to be.
