Alternate Saturday Ride - Random Roads & Random Road Captains, New Road Captain Training Ride - Departs HOD

Event date: Sat, 04/05/2025 - 10:00am

Destination: TBD

Ride Information: This ride departs from HoD. The rider's meeting will be at 10:00 AM. KSU will follow. This is an “Alternate” Saturday Ride open to any HOG members not joining the chapter’s earlier primary Saturday ride to Red’s Little School House.

The purpose of this ride is to train and mentor new road captains for the chapter and give them some experience and practice with leading and sweeping for organized group rides. All new/aspiring road captains are invited to participate, as are current road captains, and other HOG chapter members.

Ride Theme: Random Roads & Random Road Captains (New Road Captain Training)

Ride Plan: The ride will cover approximately 75-125 miles (TBD) in a large loop with a couple of breaks for training discussions/observations. The route is TBD, but should be all back roads, most of which we have traveled often, likely riding through familiar territory (e.g. Pelham, Alabaster, Calera, Montevallo, Centerville, West Blocton, Woodstock, Green Pond, Helena, etc.).

Road Captains: John A. 301-788-8257; Tony P. 205-222-3891; Paul D. 205-799-8002

(As with all rides, remember to arrive on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle with a full fuel tank. You must present your current HOG membership card. Rain cancels the ride. Allow yourself enough time for personal needs (restroom, socializing, etc.)

Closed Event: Chapter activities are conducted primarily for the benefit of H.O.G. Chapter members. Closed Events are those events open to Chapter members and one guest per member.  All guests must sign an event release. Be aware, all rides and events are subject to change or cancellation due to weather or other circumstances beyond our control.

Impairment Policy: The consumption and use of alcohol is a serious personal responsibility involving the safety of family, riding friends and the individual HOG member. Alcohol consumption before or during a motorcycling activity is not safe, responsible behavior. Heart of Dixie Chapter #1590 does not allow the use of alcohol or drugs before or during a riding event* and does not furnish alcohol at Chapter rides. Riders whose skills are observed or suspected to be impaired by alcohol or drugs before riding cannot join the ride. Riders using alcohol or drugs while riding will be asked to leave the ride. It is the responsibility of each Template Chapter member to support the consistent enforcement of this policy

Photography Policy: Photographing, filming, recording and videotaping of activities and events will be occurring Heart of Dixie Chapter events. By entering the H.O.G.® event area, you irrevocably grant permission to the Harley-Davidson Motor Company® and its agents to photograph, film, record and/or videotape you and use (and authorize the use of) your name, image, likeness, voice, and/or biographical or other information in any and all media now known or hereinafter developed in perpetuity for any and all purposes.
