2020 Meeting/Schedule Info



Chapter meeting/dinners:

The cost for meals provided by the chapter will be $5.00 (member providing the meal does not pay that month.


Officer meeting (Open)

Meetings will be held on the last Tuesday of the month prior to the chapter meeting, unless otherwise stated.  Start time is 5:30.  Meetings are open to all interested members.


Monthly meeting dates:
Thursday doors open and food served at 6:00, new member at 6:30, meeting at 7:00
Saturday doors open and food served at 12 noon, new member at 12:30, meeting at 1:00

February 6, Thursday, soup and sandwiches

March 5, Thursday, chili cook-off (if you bring chili the $5 is waived)

April 2, Thursday, pot luck meal (members bring dishes) No Charge

May 9, Saturday, picnic at Oak Mountain

June 6, Saturday,

July 2, Thursday, hamburgers, hotdogs, and all the fixings

August 6, Thursday, pot luck meal (members bring dishes) No Charge

September 3, Thursday, pizza and bingo

Tentative events:

January, Riding academy reunion (co-sponsor with HoD) no ride.  Meet & Greet to get them back in and introduce them to the HOG chapter.

February 8, Saturday, 12:30, Valentine ride / lunch at Bright Star in Bessemer.  Please R.S.V.P. to Monica ( or sign the list at the desk in the dealership.  An optional pre-lunch ride is being planned.  Stay tuned for details.

February 29, Saturday, leap year ride and after party.  We will do a new group photo.

March 14, Saturday, St. Patrick’s Day ride.

March 14, Saturday, game night no prizes just fun table games.  This will be BYOB (bring your own brown bag lunch, snacks, etc.)  This will be a fun evening reminiscing and making new memories.

March 21, Saturday, New/used bike deal Get-together (this would coincide with the first bike night of the year, 4pm.

April 11, Saturday, swap meet, rent a spot and sell your used motorcycle items.

April 25, Saturday, Blue Ribbon Ride benefiting the Shelby County Advocacy Center.  This is self-guided ride through Shelby county.

June 13 & 14, Saturday & Sunday, Basic and Advanced Trauma Training

Basic Trauma Training: June 13, 9AM – 5PM.
This class focuses on what to do in the first 5-30 minutes until professional help arrives. 
Advanced Trauma Training: June 14, 9AM – 5PM.
To attend this class you must have first completed the Basic class. NOTE: If you took the Basic class last summer, you can register and attend the Sunday class only. 
This class teaches how to be a side by side assistant to the EMS by enhancing what is learned in the Basic class. Students are taught how to be a Leader at a scene. Advanced Airway, Common Roadway Medical Concerns, Long Boarding, Femoral Traction, Femoral pressure points and PACT/ABCSS of Trauma are all addressed & practiced.
June 20, Saturday, New/used bike deal Get-together (this would coincide with bike night, 4pm.

September 12, first responders breakfast

September 19, Saturday, New/used bike deal Get-together (this would coincide with bike night, 4pm.

September 27, Sunday, Revvin 4 Research breast cancer ride.  Come help support this, we will need help parking, and supporting the ride.

December 6, Sunday, Christmas party

All Heart of Dixie HOG rides are Closed Rides.  “Closed” Rides or Events are defined by Harley Davidson HOG as:

Closed: local Chapter members with current Membership Enrollment & Release on file and one guest per Chapter member (guests do not out number local Chapter members) (Copied from HOG Chapter Handbook 2018)

For membership verification you must have your current National HOG card with the 2020 Heart of Dixie HOG membership sticker attached.
